Hello.

At 19, I started an assistant graphic design position at a local newspaper in my hometown and haven’t looked back since. Doing graphic design for a living during the day and learning animation as a hobby at night, I eventually decided to go after a bachelor’s degree in media arts and animation, which I achieved in 2012.

Since then, I have been combining these two passions to create fun, engaging and unique experiences for a wide range of mediums and platforms including television shows, music videos, mobile games and educational content.

When I’m not on the clock, I’m usually making music, building guitars, working on my house or getting lost in the woods with my dog.

Motion Designer at the University of Illinois Gies College of Business

October 2023 - Present

As a motion graphics artist and course designer for the University of Illinois Gies College of Business, I created animated video segments and supplemental graphics to accompany instructor videos for online Master’s programs. This required me to translate complex financial topics and formulas into simplified visuals that clearly explain the various factors that go into business investment and management.

Creative Director at Connect for Education, Inc.

As a creative director for C4E, I was responsible for the visual design and production of various e-learning software applications. I worked closely with clients to take their content from rough outlines to fully-realized courses that engage and educate their audience. My expertise in scriptwriting, storyboarding, and animation allowed me to create content that not only looks great, but also effectively communicates complex ideas.

Lead Animator at Built Games

June 2016 - May 2017

Designed and animated on a variety of children’s games, predominantly for ABC Mouse, a subscription based learning app for ages 2-8. This position required visually developing an outline into storyboard form. Upon approval, I would then create all of the game assets, including characters, backgrounds and text elements. Finally, these elements would then be animated into sequences that the developers could code into the software.
